Youth Round-Up: Youngsters Crowned Champions
FC Barcelona’s youth teams have enjoyed a relatively good football week with some sides being crowned as champions of their respective leagues. Unfortunately, this week Juvenil A was knocked out of the Copa de Campeones (Champions Cup), which is played between the champions of the regional leagues and a few runner ups, like Barça in this case. And the loss had a bitter taste, as it came at the hands of eternal rivals Espanyol.
The Prebenjamin blaugrana side were crowned champions after destroying their rivals Sants (1-14). The future looks bright for these lads.
Barcelona’s Benjamin A & B sides participated in the 1st edition of the MICFootball7, which was held in Andorra.
Benjamin A won their age group, beating Espanyol in the final 2-1. Marc Alegre was chosen as the tournament’s best player. Benjamin B weren’t quite as lucky. After a tie with Valencia in the final 1-1, they lost in the penalty shoot out. Prebenjamin wasn’t able to reach the final, yet Marco Olmo was chosen as the best player of his category.
