#graciespep: the world says goodbye

The Twitter hashtag #graciespep was identified on Saturday as a globally trending topic in the Twittersphere, as Barcelona fans across the world said goodbye to their beloved manager. The club itself had urged fans to send messages of goodwill to the #graciespep tag, but at kickoff only 3,100 tweets had been sent. However, by the end of the evening, that number had grown to over 55,000. Pep’s emotional farewell was also avidly followed on Youtube, Facebook and other proprietary social media networks across the globe.
