But the press has already moved on to more important matters in hand, which means only one thing – TRANSFER RUMOURS. Yes, if it was up to the press every bright star of a rival club could become a Barca player in the upcoming season. So it hardly comes as a surprise that the names of Gareth Bale, Iker Muniain, Robin Van Persie and Javi Martinez are being linked to Barca, given that all have played a vital role in the success of their respective teams this season.

Luis Milla’s Spain side came from behind to open their Group B account with a win thanks to second-half goals from FC Barcelona’s Thiago Alcantara (19) and Real Madrid striker Rodrigo Moreno (19). Six Barcelona youngstars started the game for Spain while forward Ruben Rochina (19) came on as a super-sub.

Athletic Bilbao forward Iker Muniain has expressed his admiration for Barcelona play-maker Andres Iniesta. When asked who his favourite player to watch was, the youngster said “Andres Iniesta, by the way he touches the ball and moves it from side to side. I love not only how he plays, but also his manner.”
