With rumours that Chile international and Udinese attacker Alexis Sanchez is headed for FC Barcelona garnering momentum, those for Villarreal CF forward Giuseppe Rossi have gone down. The America-born Italian player’s agent Federico Pastorello confirmed that the Catalan club were now unlikely to make a move for his player given that Sanchez is now supposedly going to join the La Liga champions. He also stated that FC Barcelona had made a bid for Rossi, which was rejected by Villarreal CF. “We are aware of an offer from Barcelona, but we were also told it was considered insufficient,” Pastorello said on Catalan radio station Ona FM’s La Graderia show. “We haven’t spoken to anyone for over a week. We know the Blaugrana are negotiating with Villarreal, so all we can do is wait for news from the two clubs.”

Villarreal defender Joan Oriol has revealed that his team-mate Giuseppe Rossi is intent on moving to FC Barcelona this summer, with the young Spanish striker admitting “Rossi wants to go to Barça.

Speaking to the ‘COM Esports Competició‘ program on COM Radio, Oriol said, “He’s hoping that everything comes to fruition and to see if next year he will wear the Blaugrana,” adding that the former Manchester United player “would adapt easily” to life at the Camp Nou.

First off, according to ‘EMD’ today the three players on FC Barcelona’s wish list this summer – Cesc Fabregas, Giuseppe Rossi and Alexis Sanchez – have given their green light to the club to start negotiating with their respective employers, which are Arsenal, Villarreal and Udinese respectively. It claims Andoni Zubizarreta had already come to an arrangement with each of them, as individuals, promising a five-year contract given their relatively young age and with a run-of-the-mill salary that is relevant with their CVs – none has won any titles with their respective clubs in recent time.

Catalan sports paper Sport reports that Barcelona would be interested in Villarreal forward and Italian international Giuseppe Rossi (23). Barcelona head coach Josep Guardiola has reportedly decided that Rossi would be a suitable transfer target for next season. After the victory over Villarreal on last Saturday, Guardiola was reportedly very impressed by the former Manchester United striker. Rossi has been in a good form during this season, netting seven goals in eleven matches for Villarreal in the Spanish League.
