Valdés contract negotiations stalled

Valdés contract negotiations stalled

Negotiations to renew the contract of goalkeeper Victor Valdes have reportedly stalled according to reports on Thursday in all major sporting media in Spain. Valdés’ agent Ginés Carvajal and his father José Manuel Valdés reportedly met on Thursday with club officials Josep Maria Bartomeu, Andoni Zubizarreta and Raül Sanllehí. They subsequently communicated to the club that Valdés would not renew his current deal with the squad.

It remains to be seen how this will play out. Valdés is bound to Barcelona through 2014 in his current contract, but if the player has in fact made up his mind to leave for greener pastures, the club will surely want to be involved financially in the transfer. Stay glued to totalBarça as we will update the site as more information about this story becomes available.
