FC Barcelona players will see a familiar face on the pitch for Saturday’s crucial clash with Sevilla at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Although Mallenco is an unquestionably qualified referee, our recent experience with him suggests that we will get no favors during the match. And given the mild controversy his performance in Barcelona elicited just weeks ago, one has to wonder why he has been selected to referee the team again so soon at such a crucial juncture in the season.

FC Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic has scored eleven goals this season which makes him the fourth highest score on the team behind Messi, Ibra and Pedro. His eleven goals have come from fourteen appearances and leaves him one goal shy of his personal record of twelve goals in the 2007-2008 campaign.

Playing on a slippery pitch in atrocious condition, risk of an injury-causing clash of bodies is certain to happen, and it did last night for FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique against Tenerife. Having had to make a lunge in an attempt to block Alfaro from taking a shot on goal in the 14th minute, the Catalan player took a knock to his right knee and was visibly in discomfort throughout the rest of the first half.

In last night’s press conference, FC Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was again full of praise for his players when they added another three points to their already impressive haul for the season: “What this team achieved is impressive, it is indescribable.  We now have 93 points and what more can I say, it is hard to believe.  This is just awesome. What these players accomplished is just marvellous.

Today I won’t watch a bad film instead of watching Madrid play because I hope to see Mallorca playing awesome*

*”De cine” (could be translated , maybe, as “like a cinemas’ film”) means “fantastic, awesome”. I write this because the whole joke is related with the fact that Iniesta said that he watched a film instead of watching Madrid play.
