‘Toiss is Neymar’s creation from the Brazilian slang “é nois” which translates to English as “it’s us”. It is a sign of affection and camaraderie between friends and loved ones, which Sport wonderfully described as having ”a sense of vindication, self-assertion, to take heart in a moment of joy when things go wrong.” Neymar uses the sign frequently for goal celebrations and also to connect with fans over social media.

In any case, that “t” shaped greeting is something we will see now at Barça as we did at his presentation, but it is already become a big trend in Brazil among youngsters. The phrase has trended on Twitter and Nike has produced shirts with the expression.

Here’s to a whole heap of ‘toissing at the Camp Nou.

According to Mundo Deportivo the new shirts for the upcoming season 2013-2014 are going on sale Thursday May 23. With still two fixtures before the end of the season, FC Barcelona fans will be able to buy the new kit.

The home shirt will have the traditional blaugrana stripes on it, and a yellow collar. The new sponsor will be Qatar Airways instead of Qatar Foundation. The airline has a contract with FC Barcelona to sponsor the kits until June 2016. The general contract with Qatar Sports Investments is estimated to be worth 170 million Euros for six seasons.

As has been rumored for some time, the away shirt will be the Catalan senyera, consisting of five yellow and four red stripes. The third kit will be all black with some grey.
