There are numerous celebrations that mankind partake in – most are often wondrous and make us think, reflect and appreciate. FC Barcelona’s players have made history before, and they will have to do so again on Tuesday against AC Milan. According to UEFA, only four teams have managed to overturn a deficit of more than one goal to advance to the next round in the Champions League. Of those four teams, all had an away to goal to work with. While past statistics might go against Barça, we’ve also seen this team and this set of players do many amazing things in the past, beyond the numbers.
So, we at totalBarça would like to know – do you think a comeback is on the cards for Tuesday? Can the blaugrana turn around the 2-0 deficit? Do you feel optimistic or pessimistic about the team’s chances of making the quarterfinals? Are we cursing the team by even asking these questions?

In keeping with the programs at FC Barcelona, we wanted to mention a campaign they are currently supporting – the “Quit smoking with Barça” initiative. One of the agencies working with FCB on this project reached out to totalBarça and we are pleased to spread the word of this healthy campaign.

We were recently contacted by one of the founders of a newly created Barça fan and news site out of Romania. In this edition of We’ve got mail, we explore further how this project came about and what inspired the project.
In helping celebrate Xavi Hernández’s 33rd birthday, totalBarça has partnered up with 3nil to give away one beautiful piece of art dedicated to the Maestro himself. ”Football Brain” is a newly created piece from 3nil and we are pleased to give it away to help launch its release.
For history buffs, there can never be enough nice to know bits of knowledge out there. And when it comes to history that relates to FC Barcelona, how does a history lesson get any better? In this edition of We’ve got mail, we share something that totalBarça friend and author, Richard Fitzpatrick, sent in. Richard was recently on assignment to cover Storymap, a website run by two Irish gentlemen that features true stories from Dublin. One of the video features was on Patrick O’Connell. If you don’t know who Mr. O’Connell is and what he did for FC Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War – you’re in for a treat!

The folks behind the impressive app known as FCB TeamCam recently contacted totalBarça to see if we could help spread the news of its launch. We thought about it for about half a second and came to the conclusion: heck yeah! Check out what this of this new and dynamic fan-based app is all about after the jump.
When it comes to contributing to totalBarça’s community, there are many organizations that have stepped up. From authors and publishers to ticketing agents and accommodations to electronics and designers. There’s more and we can’t thank them all nearly enough. Recently, we were approached by a banner/sign/magnet manufacturer. Curious to see what they were able to do for us? Also, what they can possibly do for you and other culés?
Do you like cake? It seems that culés sure do. Not only did we feature a birthday cake creation in the last post for We’ve got mail, but it started something very interesting. This week, we have a reader write in to us showing off another FCB birthday cake… along with ‘Messi’?
Most of the readers here at totalBarça would likely be more than happy to watch FC Barcelona play regardless of where the pitch is. Of course, how great would it be if it was the Camp Nou, in the city of Barcelona, and in the region of Catalonia? There’s no place like a club’s home base, I think we can all agree.

Some, if not most, fans of FC Barcelona have to wait some length of time before getting the opportunity to watch their favourite team play live in a stadium. If only we were all so lucky to live in or near the city of Barcelona, right? I think most you know what I mean. In this edition of WGM, we hear from a reader of totalBarça who recently had the pleasure of entering the realms of Camp Nou while FCB played their arch rivals.
Following our recent totalBarça Exclusive: Interview with The Champions Ring, the fine folks at The Champions Ring donated a 2010/11 UEFA Champions League print to the totalBarça community. Originally, we thought it would be great to just keep the gorgeous print for ourselves by dividing it up into 30 small pieces while framing them to distribute to the entire totalBarça team. Then, we realized it would be more fulfilling to just award it to one lucky contest winner, while keeping the print in tact. We are pretty sure that Deroy at The Champions Ring would prefer that as well.
