We are 5 years old today. totalBarça is 5. Yet, it feels like it has been five decades. So many things, good and bad, have happened within the last half-decade at FC Barcelona. And ultimately, at totalBarça. The site/community/blog/homebase – whatever we want to call it – still remains true to its original objectives. Namely, being a central destination for all culés to come share their joys and sorrows of FC Barcelona.
Things are changing at FC Barcelona. You can smell it coming. At totalBarça, we are also looking to change – specifically to grow its squad in preparation for the next season of FC Barcelona. If you have the drive, commitment, and desire to be part of a team that prides itself on supporting and growing one of the most unique fan communities on the planet, consider applying for one of the following positions at totalBarça. All positions are permanent team positions; therefore, you must be willing to contribute fully to this team (and community) on an ongoing basis. Please note that anyone from anywhere in the world can apply.

Have you ever sat in front of your TV or computer while you were watching a FC Barcelona game and hoped you could share your excitement, feelings, and opinions with other fans LIVE as it happens? We are proud to present you the FC Barcelona Match Chat. You will be able to communicate before, during and after the match. The chat will be available before and after the match.
A number of us at totalBarça have been at this project for a number of years now. Your support for our project is the single most important thing that keeps us motivated. Second most important is our community’s support for UNICEF. And it’s during instances like #weareallmonkeys that provide newly injected motivations. There are many viewpoints on the matter, but here we would like to consider this our contribution as another single step towards eradicating racism. As mentioned in our original post for this campaign: “We are all people, all humans, each of us vulnerable to the same fears and all of us capable of the same dreams.”
With that, we’d like to invite you to submit your “we are all monkeys” image. Let’s show the world how our community can come together and support this now infamous occurrence. More good news after the jump.
Recently, we reminisced and re-featured a video of Andrés Iniesta scoring that infamous goal versus Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge from five years ago. It’s moments like these that put chills down your spine, take your breath away…and all that good stuff. What if you could keep a memory like that right on your desk or table or bar? In this edition of We’ve got mail, we show you how it can be done.
Saying goodbye is never easy. We would like to express our thoughts, just once more, to Tito Vilanova. In this edition of We’ve got mail, a student from Vienna, Austria, wrote a letter in his Spanish course expressing his respect and gratitude to the Blaugrana coach.

Art, design and football is universal. And at totalBarça, we embrace the sport and culture that football fans create. La Liga has two powerhouses – FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. In the eyes of this t-shirt design company, however, there is more to the Spanish premier league than culés and madridstas.
There is so much inspiration and creativity dedicated to the Barça universe. We are proud to have a totalBarça community member and reader contribute to that universe, while sharing their talents and passion with all of us here.
Recently, totalBarça supporter and founder of a newly launched site dedicated to the art of football (and Barça) featuring limited edition art inspired by the beautiful game donated two prints from his collection. Learn how you can purchase these prints, and possibly win a copy for yourself!
An avid reader of totalBarça recently contacted us in sharing the release of his new book dedicated to the inner workings of La Masia. In this edition of We’ve got mail, we get to know the author and his newly published book, which is available on Amazon.
One of the reasons totalBarça originally formed was to ensure there was excellent coverage of not only FC Barcelona’s first team, but also its tremendous youth system and squads. We are currently in a bit of a flux in youth coverage and we know we can improve.
We are now accepting applications for the position of Youth Writer to focus on covering La Masia and all things related to the Barça starlets.
When it comes to sporting brands, everyone has their favourites. We don’t discriminate too much at totalBarça. If it has Blaugrana, we’ll likely share it with you.
In this edition of We’ve got mail, a recent Nike ad that went viral is not only inspiring but also has Pique in it as the only footballing representative in the spot.
We have worked hard, flexed our programming muscle and are now ready to present to everyone the return of what was once known as totalBarça’s Ultimate Prediction Game. The match line-up prediction game returns as Coach Culé and we are very pleased to finally release it to the totalBarça community once again!
We already announced the arrival of the new 2013/14 Barça kits a month and a half ago. But we want to know more from all of you. Have you purchased one? Which one did you get? Are they all they were hyped up to be? What’s the quality of the material? Let us know in the comments; there seems to be silence since the release of these kits…
It feels like it has been quite some time since we have received any correspondence from organized culé groups/clubs/penyas, so we were quite excited to have received one recently. In this edition of We’ve got mail, we feature the largest Barca fan club from Southern Africa!
You have to wonder sometimes what makes a major gaming company like EA Sports want to feature so much of Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona. Is it due to Messi’s globally recognized footballing skills? Or FC Barcelona’s growing marketability as a sporting organization? Perhaps it’s the combination of both? Nevertheless, in this edition of We’ve got mail, we feature a splendid promotional video that appears to be EA’s official FIFA 14 trailer at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which takes place in Los Angeles, USA, from June 11-13.
He’s been a fixture at the heart of the Manchester City defence, showing coolness under pressure and being a shining example to some of his more inconsistent teammates. Vincent Kompany has been the reigning Premier League champions’ best performer over the past couple of years, but could he be ready for a change of scenery this summer?
There are numerous celebrations that mankind partake in – most are often wondrous and make us think, reflect and appreciate. A totalBarça reader did just that when ringing in the Iranian/Persian new year this past March 20, 2013. In this edition of We’ve got mail, we are excited to share with you a letter that was sent in to us that reflects on this culé’s passion for Barça in helping him celebrate Nowruz.
In keeping with the programs at FC Barcelona, we wanted to mention a campaign they are currently supporting – the “Quit smoking with Barça” initiative. One of the agencies working with FCB on this project reached out to totalBarça and we are pleased to spread the word of this healthy campaign.
In late 2012, totalBarça had the pleasure to exclusively interview author Richard Fitzpatrick who wrote a new book called: El Clásico: Barcelona v Madrid – Football’s Greatest Rivalry. The interview can be found here.
Publisher Bloomsbury Press donated three copies of the book and we are pleased to share these with the totalBarça community amidst this period of clasico fever. In order to win a copy, you will have to fill in the form found after the jump…and exercise your creativity skills.
Good luck and have fun!
