As a result of overwhelming requests from FC Barcelona club members, director of facilities Josep Ramón Vidal-Abarca confirmed that the new or modernized Camp Nou will incorporate a mausoleum where people can be laid to rest postmortem. The Les Corts cemetery adjacent to the stadium is already where many famous Barça figures from times gone by are buried, but a revamp of that facility now will accommodate 500 more urns.
Additionally, as Vidal-Abarca has announced, “In response to the historical demand from members who want their remains laid to rest at the stadium,” a new large mausoleum will be constructed within the stadium. For between 3,000 and 6,000 euros, members can purchase 50-99 years behind a ceramic slab designed with Barça memorabilia, and “be bound forever to the club.” Well, not forever, but still quite a long time.
