Sport has featured reports in recent days placing FC Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdés in Monaco for the upcoming 2013-14 season. The Catalan is said to have made up his mind about a new adventure in his career and it only remains for the two clubs to work out the details of the transfer.
France has emerged in recent years as the playground of choice for mega-rich football entrepreneurs. Qatari consortium Qatar Investment Authority own a controlling interest in Paris St. Germain, and now Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev has taken control of AS Monaco with a promise to invest 100 million Euros in building a new squad over the next four years. If he does sign for the team, Valdés is rumored to be joined by Atletico Madrid striker Falcao and a host of other stars. A difficult offer to refuse, apparently.
