Rumours of Santos forward and Brazilian superstar Neymar (20) arriving in Barcelona this summer are growing more persistent. Catalan daily Sport reported recently that an FC Barcelona director and one of Neymar’s sponsors have both confirmed a deal in place for the 2013-14 season. The young Brazilian could arrive as early as July 2013, after the Confederations Cup has finished. for a transfer fee rumored to be between 30 and 40 million Euros. A skillful, speedy forward who can perform in a wide variety of roles, both assisting and scoring goals, Neymar’s most natural position is on the left wing, cutting into the middle to score. His flair and ability to beat defenders on the dribble bears similarities to compatriot and former blaugrana Ronaldinho. The 20-year-old phenomenon’s arrival would likely mean the exit of out-of-favor forward David Villa, and the return of Andres Iniesta to a more central midfield position. To cules concerned with Barcelona’s lack of attacking options against Madrid last Wednesday, particularly absent on the left wing, Neymar’s arrival could be just what the doctor ordered.
