Sergi Samper has today put a signature to a new contract that will bind him to FC Barcelona until the summer of 2017.
The youngster today had a meeting with Andoni Zubizarreta, Jordi Mestre, and Josep Maria Bartomeu, along with his representatives Pere Guardiola and his father George Samper. The meeting resulted in the final signing of Samper’s, who turned 18 in January, first professional contract at the club. The talented midfielder, known for his positioning skills and his vision, has this season played for the Juvenil A side of the club and it’s expected that Sergi Samper will join Eusebio’s ranks at Barcelona B next season.
Despite being able to get a professional contract at Arsenal at a younger age, similar to Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin, the 18-year-old remained loyal to the club and this has now paid off.
