This past weekend saw another game and another goal feast for Juvenil A against Gavà (6-0), giving them a 19 point advantage over second-place Espanyol in the league. The team opened the scoring through David Babunski, though a missed penalty by Ebwelle kept the blaugrana at a minimal lead at the break. After half time the game was truly decided. Herrera, Calvet and Ebwelle all contributed to making it 4-0 within a span of only seven minutes. Sanabria also added his name to the list with Babunski finishing the scoring he had started to make it a 6-0 victory!
Babunski puts Barça ahead
Until Macedonian player David Babunski scored the opener in the game, there weren’t many chances worth mentioning. Jordi Vinyal’s young men dominated and controlled the game and the ball, but Gavà’s luck never ended in the final 20 meters until the first goal. In the 23rd minute, Babunski scored the first of the game. This goal was a result of the continuous pressure and perseverance from the azulgrana players.
One minute before the half time whistle, Ebwelle was awarded a penalty which the goalkeeper kept away from the net. This sent Barça back to the dressing rooms leading by only one goal.
The second half was to be another story, as Barça only needed seven minutes to finish the game and claim the three points. After three minutes back on the field, Cristian Herrera scored, a minute later Pol Calvet added, and Ebwelle added another in the 52nd minute. This was vital, for after that, Gavà was virtually out of the match. Sanabria scored later in the second half and after that the same Babunski who had started the feast, ended it with Barça’s 6th goal.
