FC Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernández has a strain in the hamstring muscle of his right leg, according to the Club’s Medical Services. The medical team in its statement didn’t note a specific amount of recovery time for Xavi. Instead, the progress of his recovery “will determine his availability for the next match[es].”
Barça’s no. 6 has been dealing with hamstring trouble since February, only featuring for the team intermittently between spells of recovery. Xavi joins Carles Puyol, Adriano, Jordi Alba, and Pedro on the injured list of players. Tito Vilanova will also be without the suspended Víctor Valdés for Saturday’s league match against Vigo.
