FC Barcelona’s first team returned to work at a training session this Monday morning after a two day break for the players. The footballers involved in the latest round of international matches were still absent, with games taking place on Tuesday. Jorge Pautasso led the first session of the week with nine available players, plus Sergio Busquets. The midfielder from Badia, who was able to partly train with the group, is recovering from a strain in his right leg.
Dani Alves had physiotherapy at the Ciutat Esportiva to help deal with the tendinitis in his right ankle. The Brazilian was released from national team duty owing to the injury, missing the team’s two friendlies. Once back in Barcelona, Alves was examined by Barça’s doctors who have determined that the player’s issue is progressing favorably.
Carles Puyol, for his part, continued with his recovery work.
The team will hold its next training session on Tuesday, at 10 am, under the guidance of Gerardo Martino.
