Tournament: Lennart Johansson Academy Trophy
Result: FC Barcelona Infantil A 3-0 AIK
Goals: Alejandro Martínez, Lee Seung Woo (2)
Match time: 25×2
FC Barcelona’s 14 year olds took charge of the game from the very start and AIK had never much to say, except for a few tame shots easily saved by the Barça keeper. After 17 minutes, the blaugrana boys were already leading 2-0. The first goal saw an amazing build-up by Lee Seung Woo, who passed a few players before flipping a perfect pass in to captain Alejandro Martínez, who easily put the ball past AIK keeper Holm. Minutes later it was Martínez’s turn to give the assist after a one two with Lee, who then scored the 2nd goal. Before halftime, the big star of the game, Lee, would find the net once more, again after receiving the ball from Martínez. The shot from outside of the penalty area saw the goalkeeper without any chance. Three fantastic goals that left the nearly 1,000 strong crowd in the stands with open mouths.
For the second half Barça decided to rest their star player Lee. But that wouldn’t help AIK much, and the Barça boys started the second half just as they had ended the first, controlling everything. The technique and passing skill was on such a high level that it was hard to believe these were 14 year olds and not the first team. Still, the second half finished without any more goals as AIK’s best player, goalkeeper Holm, played an amazing game stopping the Barça kids from increasing the scoreline.
This was the second group game for Barcelona in the tournament and their second win, securing their spot at the top of the group. The first game was played earlier today and ended in a 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade. The third and final group game will be played tomorrow at 12:00 against Stabaek from Norway, a game one would expect that Barça should win. The semifinals will then be played later tomorrow, at 17:00 and 18:oo. The final is on Sunday at 10:00.
