Infantil A off to a great start in Stockholm!

FC Barcelona Infantil A have traveled to Sweden’s capital city Stockholm to take part in the Lennart Johansson Academy Trophy.
The tournament is named after the eponymous UEFA Honorary President Lennart Johansson, who served as UEFA president from 1990 – 2007. The main goal with the tournament is to gather some of the best youth-sides in Europe to show the stars of tomorrow.
The competition is played in three age groups, of boys born 1999, ’98 and ’97. Barcelona is taking part in the ’98 age group together with AIK (Sweden), Red Star Belgrade (Serbia), Stabaek (Norway), BK Frem (Denmark), Juventus (Italy) OLS (Finland), and Vitesse Arnhem (Netherlands). In the ’99 age group we can spot teams like Ajax and Zenit, while in the ’97 age group there are teams like Espanyol and Leeds United.
The tournament is played from 18-20 May at Skytteholms IP in Stockholm (Solna). The organizer of the tournament is Swedish top side AIK.
The Barça boys have been in Stockholm since yesterday when they did a bit of sightseeing in the city. But they played their first game today at 12:00 with a comfortable 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade. After the game coach Francesc Sánchez Bas stated, “we played a great team and had to fight hard for the result”.
Their next game will be played tonight at 19:00 (BCN time) and will also be live-tweeted at totalBarça’s official twitter account!
