We’ve had a big year. What do I mean by ‘we’? You, us, FCB – and everything else in between. This unique We’ve got mail series started a couple years ago because of all the intriguing mail we receive in our inbox. I assure you that we read each and every one of your messages even though we may not be able to accommodate everyone’s request, we try our best to. So what were the highlights of 2012’s WGMs? Let’s take a look…
Early on in 2012, we introduced Nano, a new “furry” member of the community, to everyone. That Guardiola jersey he’s wearing is likely worth millions now. Along with Nano, we found Barça donning the rare white shade in Seattle. Quite fitting for the time of year in some parts of the world right now:
Penyes and other communities
This year featured few Penyes, one being from the Czech Republic. Penya Barcelonista Lleó de Dues Cues was formed in 2011 and they shared with us what looked like a fun and exciting experience when FCB played Viktoria Plzen in Prague.
In the heart of Greece also lies the very active and dedicated Penya Barcelonista d’Atenes. They wrote in to share with us their story, history, and developments.
totalBarça learned that a Polish-based cule community was inspired by yours truly. How could we not help spread the news on this? BlogFCB.com which formed in 2011 appear to be doing very well. Keep it up!
Reader submission pieces
Although totalBarça comprises of a pretty big squad of writers, the endless angles and topics on writing about FCB can be overwhelming. Thus, it’s quite nice to receive a piece every now again from readers like yourselves. This past year we’ve had a number of them including:
- The rise of Andres Iniesta
- An homage to Pep
- Reasons to believe (why 2012/13 will be a great season for FCB)
- The Cristian Tello saga (still a saga you think?)
- A look at Song’s past and present
- Who will score this season?
A few notes of personal experiences were also sent in. One experience took us to the spiritual setting of Machu Picchu in Peru. Another reader’s experience lived out a ‘dream come true‘ when he travelled from Ireland to see the Blaugrana play at Camp Nou for the almighty Clasico.
Cake and more cake
As creative and tasty as it might seem, we seemed to have become a destination that recognizes the efforts of Barça-based cakes. Here are the three that stood out the most. Wonder if we will receive more of these in 2013?
Partners and benefits
totalBarça has had some special partners come on board to help out the community.
