Hey, tranny. May I know how does saying the refs are corrupted here will take focus off the players? The players come here to read what you wrote? BIG FACEPALM.

Sorry - I'm so used to Madrid getting PKs that aren't really PKs that it doesn't strike me as proof of anything but refs favoring them. All the refs do it.

But regardless. I dislike all these accusations of "shady circumstances" being thrown around in general, especially when as far as I can see there's absolutely no evidence of true ref misconduct. I think that crying "paid off" every time something unexpected happens or there's a questionable call made does two very negative things: 1) it takes the focus off the players and 2) it makes it harder to identify when there's truly a serious problem. It's like the boy who cried wolf.

Zaragoza have not won - what is it, 9 of their last 11 games? - by bribing the refs. For one thing, they're so broke they were in danger of folding if they were relegated (as were Rayo), which is pretty strong incentive.

I admit that I haven't seen all of the recent Zaragoza games lately, but I've seen a lot of them, and this has been a result of them working for it. (For the record, they did the same thing last year, though it was a bit less dramatic.) Look at the game with Barcelona - they gave us a lot of trouble.

United fan here too! Exciting end to the EPL season and I was less annoyed at the City title win after seeing the trophy presentation involving so many of their players from the '60s (obviously I don't want it to be the first of many though!) Was hoping that QPR (bit of a mini-City) would at least go down if the title went to the Etihad then with Villarreal going down it wasn't a great day at all for football's future...

It seems the game is moving towards a "whoever can spend half a billion in the space of 2 or 3 seasons" model for success which is a bit of a shame... o.0

I saw that too. It was Cristiano that pulled the defender's neck from behind. As usual, the ref gave them a penalty. This Lily, no matter who he/she is, always don't like to talk bad about EE and their refs. You wonder why. *roll eyes*
Incompetent refs? Mou intimidation? LOL

Lol oh well Granada players and fans certainly seemed to....I must be the only person that saw Madrid's PK as a tussle followed by Cristiano fouling the defender... :s

Zaragoza have been so poorly run as a club over the past 10 years it's hard to respect them in the same way as Wigan in the EPL or other clubs turning a 'lost cause' around in less shady circumstances...

Ah you two, I have the same thoughts of EPL being not the best league in the world. The French Ligue 1 is even better than the EPL, more talented players and what not. Even clubs in the EPL noticed these players and plan on buying a lot of them for the summer including Hazard, Giroud, Remy and Lloris.

Really? Because all of your responses to me have started to feel a lot like that.

But I'll take you at your word for the moment, if you stop making that stupid *kisses* thing at the end of your posts.

I support a lot of clubs because I watch a lot of football because I really love the game, and when you watch a lot of football, you tend to get attached to a lot of teams. There are varying levels of attachment - my main four are Barcelona, Valencia, Arsenal, and Athletic Bilbao (in the order). However, there are many other teams I enjoy watching, and I'll often turn on their games as well.

Not sure if you're joking or not about the team in danger of going bankrupt bribing their way out of anything... going to assume you are. ;)

As far as how I felt when United lost the title... honestly, I was too busy celebrating Arsenal getting third to care all that much. I like United, and I was rooting for them, but compared to Arsenal's victory their loss really isn't that important to me.

That's a good point - I'm hopeful that Villa will make a full recovery, but especially since he's older it's not guaranteed. Unfortunately we can't really know until next season, at which point it could be too late. =/
