FC Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of two Portuguese players Agostinho Ca (18) and Edgar Ie (18), who are set to arrive in Barcelona on Thursday, as confirmed by the representative of both players Catio Balde to Catalan radio station RAC1. In addition, the club are also close to completing the signing of highly rated Boca Juniors and Argentina U23 striker Sergio Araujo (20), also for the B team.
Agostinho Ca is a Portuguese midfielder, who recently played in the European U-19 Championships, while Edgar Ie is a central defender, who was part of the Sporting squad that played in the Nextgenseries last season, but missed out on the U19 Euro’s through injury. Both come from Sporting Lisbon’s academy. The representative of the two footballers, Catio Balde, has confirmed that the agreement between the three parties is complete. On Wednesday, FC Barcelona representatives will be in Lisbon to certify the agreement, and on Thursday, the players will travel to the Catalan capital where they will undergo a medical and sign their new contracts.
On the other hand, Boca Juniors vice-president, Marcelo London recieved a formalized offer from FC Barcelona for striker Sergio Araujo (20) this week. The Argentine club are willing to transfer the footballer, who also said yes to the operation. It only remains for Daniel Angelici, the president of Boca Juniors, to give the final OK.
