Two Barcelona B players in Spain squad for European U19 Championships
Two Barcelona B players, Gerard Deulofeu (18) and Alejandro Grimaldo (16), make the Spain squad to play in the UEFA European U19 Championships, being held in Estonia from 3rd to 15th July. Full squad, schedule and more details after the break.
Reigning Champions Spain will kickoff the European U19 Championships, when they face Greece at 17:30 CET – 3rd July, in Haapsalu Stadium, Estonia.
Spain are in the Group A of this year’s edition, which also includes Greece, Portugal and hosts Estonia. Group B comprises of England, France, Croatia, Serbia.
Barcelona B youngster Gerard Deulofeu, who was already part of the Championship winning Spain U19 squad last year, being one of the standout players in the tournament nonetheless, will be leading Spain again in this year’s edition of the Euro U19. Left back Alex Grimaldo, who has recently been promoted to Barça B, will also be playing a key role for Spain despite being the youngest player in the squad at just 16.

Four players, Jose Antonio Delgado, Ivan Lopez, Raul de Tomas and Salvador Ruiz, who were part of Spain’s pre-European U19 squad, could not make the final list as only 18 players could make the main squad.
