Thiago Alcántara: “I am totally recovered”
After today’s training session, Thiago Alcántara (21) talked to the press, about his successful recovery after four months with no game time. Whe asked about the injury and his time out of the field, Thiago said “the injury is totally healed. I feel fine and can play for 90 minutes. The recovery plan was meant to be such that when I came back, I could play for long periods“.
About the upcoming challenge of this season’s Champions League, Thiago said “Champions League is probably the most attractive competition. All teams want to win it. But we are ambitious and want to win all the games we play, regardless of the tournament”
He also talked about the recurrent comparisons that the press make between the Barça midfielders: “Comparisons are not good, as all players in midfield are different. We all like to keep possession and give as many passes as we can, but some get closer the goal than others; we complement each other. We make the team better, from our differences”.
Thiago was also asked if not being part of Spain’s football team for the Olympic Games was a big blow for him: “As football players we live by the day, there is no past or future. I missed the Games, but I am happy to take part of the start of this season. The main thing is that we have a Champions League game tomorrow, and then La Liga. There is no time to look back” was his reply.
