Bartra is the man. To hell with things like "what if he were to play a CL semi finals against a European powerhouse" and all that. Give them the time, just like we did with Pique. Pique was a surprise signing in 2008 as he was behind Rio, Vidic, Evans, O Shea in the manu CB defence. he was bought back and thrown straight into the deep end and look at how that turned out. I really feel Bartra is our Javi Martinez. why would we spend 40 mil on a player when we have someone very close to his playing style? Bartra is amazingly good with the ball at his feet and i think he is quicker than Martinez.

Bartra, Montoya and to an extent, Fontas can help bolster our defense. It was sorta like Pep's attitude to be too conservative with giving defensive opportunities to our La Masia players. Fontas, although he looks bad, was very very good for the B team and that was why he got the permanent deal with the first team. however, since then, he got very very few opportunities. Hell, he dint even get the amount of chances Chigrinsky got and we are already writing him off? Give the youngsters a chance to prove themselves and only then can we decide on whether someone is good enough for our team or not.

So, I am ok with signing a CB for this season but I feel it aint too bad if we don't sign someone because the market is so bloody inflated and players have crazy price tags on their head.

CB players for next season: Pique, Puyol, Masch, Fontas, Bartra, new player.. more than enough.

The DM position is more important in my opinion because with Keita gone, Busquets has to play every game, literally. Sign a good DM player who has an attitude similar to Keita's.

Hummels is staying at Dortmiund. Deal with it. They have no financial need to sell, and they aren't selling. No point in talking about players who aren't available.

Diego Lugano would be an interesting option. And after a season on the sidelines for PSG, he should come in cheaper than 3m that PSG spent on him last summer.
If you ask me, the focus should be on investing in a younger CB who can develop into a successor for Puyol in the coming seasons. Not just another squad player who could be our 3rd/4th choice CB but someone who can compete for a starting spot mid-way into the season. Like Mats Hummels.

His attitude is a bit of a problem.. He doesn't even wanna compete for his position at PSG, said he'd leave if PSG bought a CB and they got Thiago Silva. Here at Barca he'd have much more competition. Sounds like he has potential but his attitude could get in the way of that.

Agree with the depth consideration. But if we are to snap some Villareal players since they are relegated, why not considering Christian Zapata and Mateo Musacchio instead? Both of them are young and have Italian Passport therefore they wont take up another non euro spot in the team.

I think only Bartra has a shot a first team minutes. He's more composed and quicker laterally than Muniesa at the moment

Why not Sakho, he is the ideal defender we are looking for . Fast ,agressive ,young only 22,tall ,good at set peices and can play solid leftback .can be available at 12-15 mill which isnot bad considering that we spent the same amount of money on a player who never played for us like Kerrision.

Borja is Xavi type of player, he is not strictly attacking midfielder. IMO he is a way better player than Bruno
