Stat of the Day: The world’s richest clubs
FC Barcelona is financially the eighth most powerful sports team on the planet, according a new report in Forbes Magazine. Despite a year without major honors, Manchester United topped the list of the world’s richest teams, with an estimated worth of $2.23 billion. FC Barcelona climbed to eighth place with a value of $1.31 billion. To put the football world into perspective, Milan was ranked 27th while Chelsea barely scraped into the top 50 in 45th place.
