Spanish Federation bans social media
Those of you addicted to regular updates from FC Barcelona national team members will have to kick the habit, at least until the end of the Euro 2012 tournament. The Spanish Federation revealed earlier this week that players would be banned from posting updates to Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites for the duration of the event in order to more properly focus on the tournament. The decision was followed by a series of tweets from Spanish football icons Pique, Fabregas and Valdes confirming the month-long hiatus. Valdes was the most eloquent of the three, noting that ”I hope the next message I write comes with Spain as champion.”
