Spain overcomes China as Euros loom

It took a moment of individual brilliance from FC Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta to help Spain overcome China 1-0 in a friendly match in Sevilla on Sunday. Iniesta provided the assist for David Silva to open the scoring in the 84th minute. Earlier in the second half Iniesta had hit the post after another breathtaking piece of ball control inside the Chinese area. Spain coach Vicente del Bosque is still clearly experimenting with different possibilities for his team, making wholesale changes to the lineup in the second half when he introduced Valdes, Pique, Iniesta, Navas and Torres.

This was Spain’s final tune-up game before the Euro 2012 tournament gets underway on Friday; Spain faces Italy on Sunday June 10 in their opening match. Be sure to come back to tB later this week for a full Group C preview.
