Andres Iniesta, Spain’s standout player in its narrow 1-0 victory over China, was on the receiving end of plaudits from his teammates.  ”He’s not really that good, is he?” Juan Mata. “He sees spaces where it looks like there aren’t any and can stop to break in the most difficult areas. He knows how to choose the perfect moment. His head works at an incredible speed. He’s a footballer to enjoy playing beside.”

David Silva, who scored the goal from Iniesta’s assist, joined in the Iniesta praise fest and said, “Playing alongside Andrés and getting on with him is very simple. He has the ability of doing things easily that seem impossible.”

Alvaro Negredo said, “It’s the best thing that can happen to you. He can dribble, break through, has vision…When he gets to the box, he stops, looks up and finds the player who has the best chance of scoring. He’s an asset to the team. We have to enjoy and make the most of it.” 

While Sevilla’s Jesus Navas concluded, “With Andrés we are guaranteed that the game can change at any time through something he does.”
