Tests carried out on Wednesday morning on Marc Muniesa have confirmed that the player has torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee. His time out of action will be approximately six months, according to a statement provided by the Medical Services of the Club. The exact date of Muniesa’s surgery will be decided in the next few days.

Marc Muniesa was injured in the opening game of Barça’s preseason, against Hamburg (1-2). Just a few minutes into the second half, the player noticed some trouble with his right knee. In their initial tests, FC Barcelona’s doctors correctly identified the injury as a torn ACL, which tests today have confirmed.
