Recovery session focused on Sunday
After the important victory at the Da Luz stadium against Benfica, Tito Vilanova’s squad was back to work this Wednesday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva. The players that started Tuesday’s match held a more gentle session focused on recovery. The rest of the team, plus Barça B players Sergi Roberto, Tello, Oier, Ilie, Patric and Lobato, trained at the normal pace with focus already shifting to Sunday’s league match against Real Madrid.
Absent from the training session was Carles Puyol, who dislocated his left elbow during the match against Benfica. The other injured players continued their respective recovery programs, including Gerard Piqué, who did specific work in the gym.
Ahead of the match against Real Madrid, Tito Vilanova has granted his team a day off on Thursday. The squad will train again on Friday, with everyone’s attention fully on Sunday’s el Clàssic. Friday’s session will start at 11 in the morning, and on Saturday the blaugrana will train at 6 in the evening.
