Quote of the Day: Dudek on the manita aftermath

Jerzy Dudek, former reserve keeper for Real Madrid, has recently published a memoir called Under Pressure. In the book, Dudek recounts the scene in the Madrid locker room in the aftermath of Barcelona’s 5-0 mauling back in November of 2010:

“Barcelona beat us 5-0. This was a disaster. After the match there was total chaos in the dressing room. Some players were crying, others quarreling; some just stared at the floor. At that moment, Mourinho arrived. He knew that what had happened had been horrible for the team. He looked at us and said: ‘I know this hurts very much. I know that for most of you this is the worst defeat of your sporting careers. Barcelona is celebrating as if they have won the title, but they have just won one match. This is just the beginning.’”
