Puyol out four to six weeks

Club captain Carles Puyol was injured in the game against Getafe CF and further medical test have confirmed that he will be sidelined for six weeks.

Puyol had to leave the pitch halfway through the second half in the match against Getafe last night and medical tests have confirmed that he has strained the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be out of action for four to six weeks.

He will most likely miss the matches against Spartak Moscow and Benfica in the Champions League in addition to the games against Granada, Sevilla, and Real Madrid in the Liga. If he’s out for six weeks, in addition to the aforementioned matches, he’ll also miss the match against Deportivo.
