FC Barcelona’s talismanic defender Carles Puyol was discharged from the Clínica Quirón on Sunday after a successful operation to correct a knee injury sustained in his right knee. The player will now undergo a recovery that will last six weeks, ruling him out of the Copa final next Friday and the Euro 2012 finals where Spain will try to retain their crown of European champions. Puyol’s surgeons, Ramón Cugat and Ricard Pruna, expect him to be fully recovered in time for the next Liga season.
