Piqué trains with the group
This Saturday afternoon, in a closed session at the Camp Nou, the group led by Tito Vilanova held its penultimate training session before Sunday’s match against Real Madrid. The best news from the session involved Gerard Piqué, who participated with the group at today’s session. Carles Puyol and Rivaldo watched the training session from the stands.
Piqué has been injured since the first game of the group stages of the Champions League match against Spartak Moscow. After various tests, it was confirmed that the player had sprained his left foot, with an estimated recovery time of two to three weeks. Since September 19, the player has been working on his recovery. Today he made another crucial step by re-joining his team-mates at training.
Besides the addition of Piqué, the same group of players from Friday’s training took part in the latest session preparing for Sunday’s match. This group includes all the available members of the first team, plus Sergi Roberto and Tello, from Barça B. As is usual the day of a home match, the squad will hold its final training session at the Camp Nou on Sunday at 11:30 in the morning. The team will remain together after training to avoid potential delays in getting back to the stadium, owing to a public transportation strike.
