Portuguese referee  Pedro Proença  has been selected to blow the whistle for the Euro12 final match pitting Spain against Italy. He will be assisted by Portuguese linesmen;  Turkish referee Cüneyt Cakir will serve as fourth official for the match. Proença’s star is rising among elite European referees: earlier this season he was given the Champions League final, and earlier at Euro12 saw Spain in action when they destroyed Ireland 4-0 in Gdansk.

Spain eliminated Portugal to reach the Euro final. Given this, what do you make of the appointment of Proença to preside over the final match?
