The RFEF (Real Federación Española de Fútbol), Spainish football’s governing body, ruled that Adriano will receive an additional one match ban following his straight red card against Real Madrid in the 2nd leg of the Spanish Super Cup.  Last season, regulations were changed to stipulate that cards and punishments received in the Super Cup competition will only apply to that particular set of matches.  Therefore, Adriano’s ban has no effect on La Liga and will only take effect if and when FC Barcelona participate in their next Super Cup.
