FC Barcelona have announced the signings of Seville FC forward Luis Alberto (19) and Nastic right back Sergio Juste (20). Both players have passed their customary medical tests with the club, and signed their Barcelona B contracts.
Luis Alberto has joined on a season long loan deal reported to be worth €200,000, with Barcelona reserving an option to make it permanent for €4 million next season. Speaking to Barca tv after signing his contract, Alberto said, “Coming to a club like this, the world’s largest, you can only be happy. Now its my turn to work. The aim is that the team finishes as high in the table as possible and, individually, I would like to play as many games as possible and score goals.”
Right-back Sergio Juste has signed a 3-year-contract with the club, which includes a buy-out clause worth €12 million. Juste, who is ex-La Masia graduate, revealed his excitement on returning to the club. “I am very happy to be here, to come to the best club in the world. I have actually come back, because I had already been here as a kid.”
Barca B now travel to England to play in two friendlies against Huddersfield Town (8 August, 19:45 CET) and Bolton Wanderers (10 august, 20 CET). Coach Eusebio Sacristan has announced the 22 players that will travel to England for the two friendlies. Sergi Roberto, Rafinha Alcantara, Cristian Tello, Ilie Sanchez all miss out as they have been called up to the first team. Centre-back’s Edgar Ie and Sergio Ayala have both been dropped due to injury, while striker Rodrigo Rios has been left out as the club have told him to look for a new club.
