As has been expected to be confirmed for some time, Jordi Alba is now officially an FC Barcelona football player after the two clubs reached an agreement, with personal terms having long been agreed. The transfer fee is 14 million Euros and Alba has signed a 5 year contract.
Jordi Alba (23) was born in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona and was part of the Masia set up from 1998 and 2005 between the ages of 9 and 16, when he was then released. Cornella picked him up but soon enough Valencia spotted his talents. Originally a left midfielder, Barca have former Valencia manager Unai Emery to thank for his successful retraining as a left back, where he now is the undisputed Spanish national team left back. He is technically excellent and has great stamina with a healthy amount of aggression and persistence in his defending. It’s been clear in the Euros already how seamlessly he will integrate with his FC Barcelona teammates.
