Official: Barcelona sign Agostinho Ca and Edgar Ie
FC Barcelona confirm they have reached an agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the incorporation of Portuguese youth internationals Agostinho Ca (19) and Edgar Ie (18) for Barca B. The two players will travel to Barcelona in the coming hours to pass a medical before signing their new contracts.
Agostinho Ca
Born in Guinea Bissau (1993) and a naturalized Portuguese, Agostinho Ca moved to play in the academy of Oeiras. Later, he moved to Sporting Clube, where he quickly excelled at the youth level and became one of the players with more projection in the clubs academy. The midfielder has great technical skills and an enviable vision.
This summer he has been involved with Portugal in the European Under-19 Championships, where he faced his future teammates at Barcelona B, Alejandro Grimaldo (16) and Gerard Deulofeu (18) in the Group stages.
Edgar Ie
The Portuguese player, born in 1994, stands out for his versatility, since he is equally adept at right back, centre back or in more advanced positions. Edgar came to Sporting Clube in the year 2008/09, also from Oeiras, and from then on became one of the players with the greatest impact on his team. It was precisely the current first team coach, Ricardo Sa Pinto, who converted him to play in the central defense, where Edgar has matured most.
Edgar is a regular in the youth national teams of Portugal, but this summer could not be involved in the U-19 European Championship in Estonia, as he broke the fifth metatarsal of his left foot.
