FC Barcelona announced the signing of Boca Juniors striker and Argentina U23 international Sergio Araujo (20) on a two-year loan deal, after the player passed his medical and signed his Barça B contract. The Club reserves an option to purchase the player after the conclusion of current loan deal.
After FC Barcelona announced that the Club had arrived to terms with Boca Juniors for the player on Tuesday, the Argentine forward passed his medical and signed his contract on Wednesday.
The singing ceremony was attended by Araujo’s family, director of football Andoni Zubizarreta and the director responsible for Barça’s youth system, Jordi Maestre.
No details on the price was announced by the club, but Catalan radio station RAC1 revealed that Barca will pay Boca Juniors a sum of €300,000 for the first year’s loan period, and €500,000 for the second year. The club also reserve a €6 million buy option, which could rise to €12 million based on various clauses.
