Monday training without Alexis or Valdés
FC Barcelona’s first team trained this Monday at midday following a convincing victory against Rayo Vallecano. Missing from the session, which took place at the Ciutat Esportiva, was Alexis Sánchez. The player has bruising on his left thigh and the injury’s progress will determine his availability for Wednesday’s match against Malaga at the Camp Nou.
Another player missing from today’s session was Víctor Valdés. The goalkeeper did not train owing to a fever and general malaise.
The players who were in the starting XI against Rayo held a gentler session focused on recovery. The rest of the squad exercised thinking about the next Liga match, against Malaga on Wednesday (20:00).
For today’s session, Guardiola called up ten players from the reserves. Bartra, Tello, and Montoya (who were part of the squad that traveled to Madrid yesterday) were included, along with Rodri, Carmona, Oriol Rosell, Espinosa, Lobato, Sergi Gómez, and Masip.
