FC Barcelona and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi (25) will be making his debut at the world famous Madame Tussauds museum in London according to the museum’s official website.
Sculptor Jim Kempton is seen working on the flawless clay sculpture here, which is the first stage in the figure creation process. Once completed, the new wax figure of Messi will be portrayed in his current FC Barcelona kit and replicate his signature ‘goal celebration’ pose.
“We are very excited to confirm Messi’s inclusion in our interactive Sports Zone” said the museum’s PR Manager, Nicole Fenner.
“As one of the top footballers of this generation our visitors are constantly requesting his figure and of course we are hoping that later this week he will be named the Best Player in Europe for the second year running!”
The figure of Messi will join the museum’s interactive Sports Zone alongside other legends of the ‘beautiful game’ including Pelé, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
