Keita announces his departure from Barça

Midfielder Seydou Keita (32) has announced this Saturday evening that he will not be staying at FC Barcelona next season.

The player, whose contract with Barça expires this summer, has decided not to accept a new deal offered by the Catalan club. According to Sport, Keita recently traveled to China to negotiate his incorporation into Chinese team Dalian Aerbin. While negotiations were left open in Asia, representatives of the Chinese club traveled to Europe to complete the deal to secure the services of the player. It is expected that Dalian Aerbin will announce the transfer and details on Sunday.

Keita joined the blaugrana in the summer of 2008, and during his four years with Barça, he won 14 titles, including three league titles, two Champions Leagues, two Spanish Cups, two Club World Cups, three Spanish and two European Super Cups.

On FC Barcelona’s official site, the Club thanked Seydou Keita “for his services to the Club over the years“, and they wished him “professional and personal success in the future“.
