This Wednesday morning, Barça held its second training training of the week, marked by the absence of eleven players who are with their national teams. On this occasion, the first team trained with the Barcelona B squad led by Eusebio Sacristán. Both teams are preparing for their League debuts this weekend, with the first team taking on Real Sociedad on Sunday and Barça B starting their campaign on Friday against Almeria.
Puyol, who was reincorporated into the group on Tuesday after missing the match in Bucharest with a muscle strain in his right thigh, and Dos Santos, who missed the friendlies in Sweden and Romania with a strain in the quadriceps of his right thigh, have worked on the pitch but on the sidelines away from the rest of the squad. Also on the sidelines was Thiago Alcántara, who completed specific work as he had at Tuesday’s training session. The midfielder is working to overcome a leg injury picked up at the end of last season.
The team will hold its next training session on Thursday afternoon, at 19:00, when almost all of the international players will be back with the exception of Alexis Sánchez.
