FC Barcelona officially confirmed that Carles Puyol (34) is expected to be sidelined for about 8 weeks as a result of his dislocated left elbow suffered Tuesday night in Lisbon when playing against SL Benfica.  His treatment has been described as “conservative”, meaning that it is not surgical and a matter of rest and then rehabilitation.  Of course there is a large sense of disappointment with the timing of the injury, but that is just part of the life of a football player.  Either way, like our brave captain said over Twitter, “I’ll soon be back to my best again!”.
