Friday training, Pinto out for Betis match
José Manuel Pinto did not train this Friday owing to a sprained right ankle. The goalkeeper received treatment and will miss Saturday’s match against Betis (22:00). In his place Guardiola decided to call up Barça B’s Oier Olazabal, who made the list of 19 players that will travel for the final Liga match of the season at the Benito Villamarín stadium. The squad list names 15 players from the first team -including Keita, who has recovered from the calf trouble in his left leg- as well as Bartra, Tello, Montoya, and Oier from the reserves. Guardiola has also included Piqué and Cuenca on his list, two players who received their medical clearance earlier this week.
The main absences for this last League match include Puyol, who will have his operation on Saturday, and Alexis, who continues working on the sidelines to aid his recovery from bruising to his left thigh. This is in addition to the absences of Villa, Fontàs, and Abidal.
Guardiola’s squad trained this Friday morning before the trip to Seville on Saturday. Tito Vilanova was back at today’s session, after letting a virus run its course which kept him away from the players for the last few days.
At the start of the session, the team congratulated Andrés Iniesta, who turned 28 years old this Friday.
The list: Valdés, Alves, Piqué, Cesc, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Thiago, Mascherano, Keita, Sergio, Pedro, Afellay, Adriano, Cuenca, Oier, Tello, Bartra, and Montoya
