Five Barca players in UEFA.com’s Team of the Year

The five Barca players who were chosen in the FIFA/FIFPRO XI at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala recently were all also part of UEFA.com’s Team of the Year 2011. Defenders Dani Alves and Gerard Pique, midfielders Andres Iniesta and Xavi and striker Lionel Messi featured in the squad that was dominated by players from La Liga including three from Real Madrid. Over 4.5 million votes were cast on UEFA.com to select the team, which saw Pep Guardiola chosen as the coach and Xavi as the captain. This was Xavi and Messi’s fourth consecutive appearance in the team, while Iniesta’s third and Piqué’s second. After the jump, the complete squad.
