Seydou Keita was the main absence from FC Barcelona’s training session this Tuesday. The midfielder has joined up with the Mali national team, as they prepare for the African Cup of Nations, which begins on January 21 and will be held this year in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. His return depends on Mali’s results, starting with their games against Ghana, Botswana and hosts Guinea in Group D.
Keita, therefore, was the only uninjured player absent from the session, as the rest of the available members of the team trained normally. This including those who were in Zurich on Monday, who received a round of applause from their teammates at the start of today’s session. Also included in the session this Tuesday were Cuenca, from Barça B, and ex-Barça defender Rafa Márquez, who had also worked with the group on Saturday.
The team will hold their next training session on Wednesday, which will be their last session before the second leg of the Copa del Rey against Osasuna on Thursday (22:00).
