FC Barcelona forward David Villla (30) scored two goals against Alavés last night, thus reaching the 301 goal mark as a professional footballer. Villa started his race for this milestone in the 2000/01 season, playing for Sporting Gijón, where he scored 40 goals in three seasons. In the following two seasons (2003/04 and 2004/05), he scored another 40 goals for Zaragoza. Then El Guaje moved to Valencia, where he scored a whopping 128 goals.
In the 2010/11 season, David Villa joined FC Barcelona, where he kept up his goalscoring prowess. This is the player’s third season as a blaugrana and so far he’s scored 40 goals for the team. In addition to his club performances, we have to add his 53 goals with the Spanish national team.
After fully recovering from an injury that sidelined him for eight months, the blaugrana forward has scored 8 goals so far this season.
