Im not so sure about that. Both henry and samuel eto performed very well on the left. So has pedro in past seasons. Villas form had dropped so much before the injury but he still had all the right movements of the vall it was just his finishing that was off. Its strange because our forwards miss so many chances every game compare to other teams. Something has to be done about that its not a coincidence.

no one performed on the left wing because the position was so isolated. this will change with Alba. it was not villa’s fault. everyone underperfomed there. villa could score 35 next season.

I really do hope so. His form prior to his injury was less bedazzling and seemingly underwhelming. Moreso, his visage and body language actually painted a more valid picture of his ordeal, the 3-1 win bernabeau a classic example. That injury in the CWC was an oasis he needed to salvage his reputation as a sui generis world-beater. My wish for him (el guaje) is to rediscover the form that made us purchase him in the first place.

So many goal-scoring threats for Barcelona this season! Villa will be fully fit, Pedro with renewed confidence (if the Euros are any indication), Alexis will have had a full pre-season to help define his role within the team, Fabregas will be swooping in from the midfield, and of course there's Messi. And that's without mentioning Cuenca or Tello – who knows what they might accomplish.

But let's remember that their individual contributions shouldn't only be measured in goals and assists. The more threats Barca puts on the field, the thinner the opposing defense is spread. Goals will come, no matter who scores them. How does anybody hope to shut down Messi and Villa and Pedro? Or Messi and Villa and Alexis? Add to this the phenomenal workrate players like Villa, Pedro and Alexis show in defense, and you've got to wonder why anybody would want Barca to find a "plan B."
